Frances Louise Herring Anderson, 80, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX, on April 7, 1944, to the late Frank and Thelma Herring.
Frances’ parents instilled in her a deep love for others, a quality she carried throughout her life. She had an extraordinary ability to see the good in everyone and dedicated herself to positively influencing those around her. As an elementary school teacher in Lubbock and Tyler, TX, Frances touched countless lives with her dedication to education, especially through All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler. She played an active role in her children's schools, organizations, and activities, always supporting her family and community.
Together with her husband, she served numerous charitable organizations throughout Texas. She was a dedicated member of her church and served as the Children’s Christian Education Director, offering her time and talents to help others. Above all, Frances was deeply cherished by friends and family for being an exceptional mother, wife, and friend. Her kindness was limitless, and her love for others was always sincere and unwavering.
Frances is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Aarne Anderson; her son, Eric (Sherine) Anderson of Burbank, CA; her daughter, Angela (Ben) Ratterree of Spartanburg, and their children, Andy, M.E., Betsy, and Miller; her son, Russell (Lindsay) Anderson of Nashville, TN, and their children, Oliver and Spence.
Frances’ life will be honored at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 4th at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, SC.
