Frances Ann Boettger was born on July 29, 1938, on the family farm near Berne, Iowa, to Martin and Viola (Schultz) Dorale. She was baptized and later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Frances attended country school during her elementary years and graduated from Ute High School with the Class of 1956.
After graduation, she moved to Denison and began working at a bank. On February 9, 1958, Frances was united in marriage to Lester Boettger at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Four children were born to this union: Larry, Diane, Allan, and Patricia. Together they made their home on the farm, where Frances enjoyed working outdoors and caring for the animals. She loved gardening, tending to her flowers, and spending time in nature.
Frances also enjoyed dancing, going on cruises, and taking winter trips to Las Vegas, where she and Lester spent time each year from Christmas through March. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s softball and baseball games, as well as horse shows, where she proudly supported Patricia and later her granddaughter.
Frances passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Denison Care Center at the age of 87. In addition to her parents, Martin and Viola, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her son, Allan Boettger; and her brothers, Burdell and Terry Dorale.
She is survived by her children: Larry (Jane) Boettger, Diane (Tim) Goslar, and Patricia (Doug) Davis, all of Denison; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation with family greeting friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Private Family Services will be held. Burial will be at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
