Funeral services for Frances Martin Cardwell, 96, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025, at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, LA. Rev. Leon Boggs will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, north of Minden, LA.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 21, at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Frances, a former resident of Sarepta, LA for 47 years, died in Dallas, TX after a long illness on March 9, 2025. She was born January 3, 1929, in Minden, LA, and was a 1946 graduate of Minden High School. She was a long-time faithful member of New Sarepta Baptist Church. Frances also was a retired Office Administrator at the former Treat Oil Company in Minden and Matthews Oil Company in Bossier City, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ocie W. Cardwell; parents, Zack and Nora Martin; sisters, Martha Martin Hughes and Peggy Wynona Martin; and brother, Darrel W. Martin.

She is survived by sister, Bonnie Martin Hughes of Haughton, LA; son, Larry Cardwell and wife Belinda of Dallas, TX, and a number of special nieces and nephews that were very dear to her. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Place Nursing Facility and Three Oaks Hospice, both of Dallas, TX, for their special care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of your choice.
