Frances M. Carpenter, 88, passed away September 9, 2023 after a lengthy illness.  She was born March 26, 1935 in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late James and Jessie Thorne.  Frances will always be remembered as a feisty gal who was never inhibited to tell you what was on her mind.  In her free time she enjoyed sewing and practically any type of craft and jewelry making.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William H. Carpenter.  Frances is survived by her children Diana (Thomas) Kohler, Ricky (Kathy) Carpenter, Angela Poncar, and Regina (Kraig) McCord; grandchildren Michele, Kimberley, Eric, Christina, Nicole, Stephen, Brittany, Meghan, and James; as well as 17 great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday, September 18, 2023, at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street), where funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon.  She will be laid to rest with her husband at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186.
