Fran was truly a force of nature. Humor, determination, a fierce love for her clients and their works, and always time for a good story, a compliment, or a commentary on the cat. And friendship. We came together later in her life, and I regret the moments we might have shared, but my respect for Fran (don't call me Frances!) and her integrity and commitment will stay with me for the rest of my life. Rest in peace, Fran, and raise a glass of champagne with your amazing authors up in heaven!

Fran meant the world to me. It didn't start out that way. She was a tough negotiator and did not participate in the kind of insincere Hollywood "happy talk" with which I was all too familiar. Our business and personal relationship blossomed over the years into one of my most important and rewarding. I grew to love and appreciate her candor and just plain "Fran-ness" so very much. She introduced me to some great books and writers, told me unforgettable, often bawdy, stories, to say nothing of mixing me my first-ever Negroni in her niece's NYC home. I miss you so much, Fran, and I know what my marching orders are in order to do right by you. Love, Lynn
