Frances Coppa Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Auble Funeral Home - Orrville on Feb. 7, 2026.
Together Again -- Frances "Louise" Coppa, age 90, of Orrville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 6, 2026, at her home, following an age-related condition.

Louise was born on August 7, 1935, in Cadiz, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Helen (Knox) Porter. She graduated from Scio High School and went on to marry Ronald E. Coppa on June 2, 1961, in Hamilton, Bermuda. Ronald preceded her in death on December 3, 2015.

Raised during the Great Depression, Louise learned the values of hard work, selflessness, and resilience at a young age. She began cooking for her family at just eight years old. Shortly after high school, her and her sister proudly paid for the first indoor plumbing for their family's home. From her humble small-town beginnings, she stepped into the path of a Navy wife and devoted mother, traveling the world with her family, including living in Spain where she learned to speak Spanish.

Louise was a devoted stay-at-home mother giving her time to her children's activities, a cub scout leader, and a cheer leading coach. Always a talented seamstress, she crafted uniforms for cheer teams and clothes for her family and others.

Upon her husband's retirement and move to Orrville, Louise embraced her new town, she later worked for AAA Travel Agency, retiring after 19 years in 1998. She was a member and former President of the Orrville American Legion Auxiliary.

Above all, Louise was the heart of her family, raising her children and grandchildren with unconditional love and guidance. She will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm smile and her quiet and strong faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rae (Brian) Foster of Orrville; two sons, Dana Coppa and Herb Coppa, both of Orrville; two grandchildren, David (Stephanie) Franks of Tuslaw Township and Erin (Zach) Montavon of Columbus; three great-grandchildren, Camden and Kenyon Jackson of Orrville and Lacy Franks; and a sister, Janet Higgins of St. Cloud, Florida and several dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Kreiger, and her brother, David Porter.

Friends may call on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Don E. Bolich officiating. Burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster.
