Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

WATERBURY  - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Frances M. Cuddy, a devoted wife and mother as well as a beloved homemaker, grandmother, and great grandmother peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the age of 94, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the widow of William G. Cuddy Sr.

Frances was born on February 7, 1930, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Melka) Marchenko, and graduated from Leavenworth High School. Throughout her life, Frances dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as making pancakes for her grandchildren and trying her luck with scratch lottery tickets. She also cherished trips to the casino, solving crossword puzzles, shopping, getting her hair done, makeup make overs with her granddaughter, Megan and exploring tag sales in search of hidden treasures. Frances leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her children: William Cuddy Jr of Waterbury, Jeffrey Cuddy of Plainville, Debbie DellaCroce, of Oakville, and Donna Cuddy of Coventry, as well as her sister, Martha Collins of Farmington. She also leaves her five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew her. Frances was preceded in death by her siblings, John Marchenko, Peter Marchenko, Al Wentskowski, Ann Palmeri, Helen Platt and her son in law Richard DellaCroce.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Cuddy will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. All are welcomed to attend the Memorial Service. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Loving-kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence and share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone who was important to you.
