Frances Sidelia Fitzgerald, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, in Farmington, New Mexico, surrounded by her grandchildren and closest family, whom she loved dearly. Born on April 9, 1946, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Isaac and Margaret Martinez, Frances lived a life full of kindness, warmth, and grace.

Frances had a remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel cherished and at ease. Her warm smile and gentle spirit were a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. She had a passion for nurturing her garden, where she found peace among the flowers and sunshine. Frances also loved piecing together puzzles, a reflection of her patient and thoughtful nature. And no visit was complete without sharing a good cup of coffee, her favorite companion any time of day.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Les Fitzgerald and Dale Fitzgerald, along with his wife Gladys; her treasured grandchildren, Emmie and Jayden Fitzgerald; Her family members include; sisters Martha Hofmann of Colorado, Marcella Valdez and Cruzita Garcia of Santa Fe; her brothers Isaac Martinez Jr., Robert Martinez, Joe Martinez, Phillip Martinez, Leonard Martinez, Milton Martinez, Vincent Martinez of Santa Fe. Closet Nieces and nephews; Maria Jiron, Margie Ortiz, Simon Jiron, James Jiron and Lee Jiron.

Frances was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Earl Fitzgerald, and sister Cecilia Jiron.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to know her. Frances's spirit will forever be a guiding light, reminding us to find joy in simple moments and to care deeply for one another.

She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who loved her.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on 2100 E 20th St in Farmington, NM at 11:00 a.m.
