Daniel Fitzgerald Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Daniel Fitzgerald, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Survived by his son, Robert (Nancy) Fitzgerald and daughter, Catherine Rosen; grandchildren, Ruth and Lucy Rosen. Liam and Emily Fitzgerald along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his wife, Edythe "Edy" L. Fitzgerald, son, Joseph Fitzgerald.

Daniel lived a life filled with love, passion, and generosity. He loved above all, God, closely followed by his wife, Edythe, and children Robert and Catherine who he did his best to provide a superior life for. Some of his passions outside of his family included photography, history, and his many years of work with the Archdiocese of Chicago. Daniel's generosity extended to the various charities he donated to. Daniel was loved by many and will be greatly missed but by no one more than his children and grandchildren who love him more than life itself.

A mass of Christian burial for Daniel will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Barnabas Parish, 10134 S. Longwood Drive, Chicago, IL. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 2755 W 111 St. Chicago, IL 60655.
