Frances (Fran) Morris Obituary
Frances Edith (Fran) Morris, 73, of Adel, passed away March 14, 2025 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Fran was born on August 31, 1951, the daughter of Richard Simon and Kathryn Irene (Mahanna) Ehrhardt. Fran grew up in Adel and graduated from Adel High School in 1969. After graduating from Adel, she attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1973.
Fran was united in marriage to Brian Morris in Adel on August 6, 1975. Fran lived all her life in the Adel area. She was an avid reader and would typically complete three to four books a week. Fran worked as an administrative assistant through the years and most recently had worked for the State of Iowa. Fran retired in 2018 and enjoyed her time at home with her husband by her side.
Fran is survived by her husband: Brian Morris; son: Nathan (Stephanie Marolt) Morris; grandchildren: Ellie, Lucy, and Zoe; brothers: Rick (Rhonda) Ehrhardt and Tim (Mary) Ehrhardt; sister: Linda (Vicki Harris) Smith; several nieces, nephews and friends; as well as a close friend: Deb Owen.
No services are planned. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Des Moines Public Library Foundation in Fran’s memory. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.caldwellparrish.com
