Frances Marlene Gathright

Frances Marlene Gathright, 80, of Oklahoma, City passed away on March 7, 2025. Born on November 24, 1944, in Clinton, OK to H. Irwin and Edna Warkentin. Frances led a full life of love and dedication. She married Jack Gathright in1967, and together they had two children, Jeff and Margaret. In 1988, Frances graduated with a degree in English from Southwestern Oklahoma University.
Frances cherished sunsets on the beach, reading, and baking for friends and family. She also took pride in making the family's best zwieback. Predeceased by her husband Jack and brothers Gerald, Floyd, and Wendel. Frances is survived by her son Jeff, daughter Margaret, son-in-law Michael, sister Rowena, and brothers Michael and Richard. She also leaves behind five stepchildren, her beloved Aunt Elda and Uncle Bob, numerous cousins, and countless grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
A fierce prayer warrior and advocate for her family. Frances was always the person to call when you needed a fighter in your corner. After her husband's passing, she continued to support her family by attending every concert, graduation, and birth she could.
Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband, with a graveside service at 1:00 PM on March 12, 2025 followed by a late lunch.
