Frances Guffey Obituary
Frances was a pastor's wife for 48 years. She served faithfully alongside her husband, Rev. Lloyd Guffey in several churches until his passing on Feb 1, 2008.
She taught Sunday School for many years with hundreds of children passing through her classes. She was a hero in her faith.
She was known as Mama Guffey to many who knew her, and she always offered a big smile, a hug, unconditional love and compassion to those she met.
She was a great prayer warrior and a member of Free Hope Baptist Church. She loved to sing-especially with her boys and tell people about the love of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Taking care of her home and her family brought her great joy through the years. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Vernon and Melinda Guffey, Rev. Ronald and Michele Guffey and Michael Guffey. Grandchildren: Katey and Blane Pickens, Drew and Katelyn Guffey, Meadow Guffey, Charleston Guffey, Jonathan and Cassie Guffey and Charissa and Eric Newby. Several Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Sisters in law: Carolyn Drew and Alice Drew; Sister, Thelma Casey. Special Friends: Ken and James Rice, Geneva Kirby and Dianne Young.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Beach and Rev. Darrell Broome officiating.
Burial will follow in the United Memorial Gardens
