Frances Sue Guthrie

Frances Sue Lawrence Guthrie passed away and went home to Jesus on August 23, 2025. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Colorow Care Center in Olathe, Co. at the age of 93. Sue was blessed with a long and wonderful life.

Sue was born in Wellington, Texas on January 27, 1932, to Jake and Della Lawrence. She graduated from high school there in Wellington in 1949 and married Paul Guthrie on December 7, 1949. Paul and Sue raised their two children Pam and Nick there in Wellington and in 1970 they moved to Colorado. Sue worked alongside her husband Paul in their floor covering business until they retired. She liked gardening and working in her yard. She also enjoyed camping and fishing and loved to watch her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren playing sports. Sue was a Christian and attended the church of Christ. She served as an elder’s wife and loved the Lord. Sue was a kind and giving person and loved her family greatly.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband Paul. She is survived by her daughter Pam Lay and her husband Bob and her son Nick Guthrie. Her grandchildren are Justin Foster, Bridget Rumble, and Allie Guthrie. She is also blessed with six great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held October 25th at 10:00am at Taylor Funeral Home in Delta, Co.
