Joseph “Opie” P. Mlakar passed away Friday, August 29th, 2025, at his residence in Olathe. He was 52 years old.
Graveside service will be held at 10am, Monday, September 8th, 2025, at the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Opie was born in Delta, Colorado on May 4th, 1973, to Valda Ann (Neil) and Harold James Mlakar. He grew up in the Delta County area and graduated from Paonia High School in 1992.
Opie enjoyed going for rides. He loved anything on wheels!
Opie is survived by two brothers: John and Harold Mlakar of Somerset, Colorado; one sister, and several nieces and nephews.
Opie is preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Community Options – 936 North Park Place, Montrose, CO 81401.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
