Church Services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 511 Oak Avenue Paonia, CO 81428.
Grave Services will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12:00pm at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens located at 2970 North Ave. Grand Junction, CO 81504.
Jerry was born on December 4, 1944, in Wheatridge, CO to Viola Widener and Clarence Elmer Payte. He grew up in Jefferson County, CO.
He met Linda and they were married on December 10, 1966, in Grand Junction, CO. They celebrated 59 years together.
Jerry and Linda made their way to Delta County making Paonia their home. He has been a resident of the Western Slope for 34 years. Jerry was a carpenter and retail manager. When not working, he enjoyed the classic car scene, attending car shows and showing off his collection. He was always known for being willing to help anyone with any project.
Jerry is survived by his wife Linda, children David, Steve and Tammi, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren: brothers Clarence in Wyoming and Ralph in Colorado.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Elmer and Viola Payte, his sisters Betty and Mildred, brother Bruce and son Jefferson Scott.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
