Gregorio Villaverde Payte, affectionately known as Greg to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas, at the age of 86. Born on May 9, 1939, in the Philippines, Greg's journey was marked by his unwavering faith, infectious humor, and profound love for his family.
Greg's life was a testament to his dedication and hard work. He pursued higher education at the University of the East, where he graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a successful career in the financial sector. Greg spent 26 years at the Bank of California, where he was esteemed by colleagues and clients alike for his integrity and leadership as a Branch Manager.
Outside of his professional sphere, Greg was an avid gardener, finding solace and joy in the tranquility of his garden. His green thumb brought forth an abundance of flowers and produce that he loved to share with friends and neighbors. He also had a keen interest in investing, following stock market trends with a sharp and discerning eye.
Those who knew Greg will remember him as a man of great humor. His ability to light up a room with his jokes and laughter was unparalleled. A man with deep devotion to his faith, he was a pillar of strength and guidance for his family and community. His loving nature extended beyond words, as he always put the needs of others before his own.
Greg was the cherished patriarch of a large and loving family. He is survived by his children: Michael Edwin, Anne Marie, Patrick John, and Lisa Beth, who will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. Greg's life was further enriched by his grandchildren: Anthony, Megan, Brandon, Justin, Jeremy, Autumn, Matthew, Marc, Cecilia, Katrina, and Marilyn, and his great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Elijah, Mark, Charles, and Bentley, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Greg's memory will be honored and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His lessons of love, laughter, and faith will continue to resonate through the generations.
