Darryl Giddings

Darryl Bruce Giddings, a charismatic and loving soul known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, took his final curtain call on January 30, 2026. Born on March 1, 1969, in Marlin, TX, Darryl's wonderful journey of life included a long and successful career in logistics, but what mattered most to him was his family. Known as a source of joy and laughter, Darryl's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Known for his competitive spirit, Darryl was a sports enthusiast who played football, basketball, and track and field in high school. He graduated from Marlin High School and later attended Navarro College. This was a testament to his determination and drive, traits that he carried throughout his life.

Darryl was a man of faith, baptized in 1978 at South Union Baptist Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and decisions. He was preceded in death by his father, Mack; his grandparents, TC and Ella; his aunt, Zida Jackson; and his uncles, Robert (RT) Giddings, James Giddings, and Charlie V. Giddings. Though Darryl has joined those who went before him, his love and laughter live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Darryl is survived by his wife, Tonya Giddings, and his mother, Stella Giddings (Lloyd Moore). He will be fondly remembered by his children, Sierra Coleman, Anthony McClintock, Jordan Giddings, Alexandria Giddings, EllaRaie Giddings, and Tyler Giddings. He was a proud grandfather to Jaliyah, Cassius, Tyson, Alaia, Jasiah, Zanovia, Zieanna, Le'Jerrian, and Dominic. Darryl's memory will also live on in his brother Bernard Giddings (June), sister Jacque Coffman, and half-siblings Maxine Freeman, Mark Stance, Michael Stance, David Stance, James Yogi Mitchell, Roshanda Kirby, and Joy Strickland-Cheeves. He is also lovingly remembered by his aunts, Dorsie Henderson, Leathia Dancy, Ola McDade, and Vernia Gilbert; his uncle, Maurice Giddings; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
