Frances Ann Proffitt Harris, 87, of Matilda Place, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Princeton Hospital.
Born on June 15, 1937 in Mudfork, VA, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Frances M. Farmer Stevenson. She was a member of the First Church of God on Airport Road and had been a resident of Bluefield for most of her life. She was retired from retail sales.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Proffitt; and her second husband, Donald Ray Harris; 2 great grandchildren (Caleb and Norah); and 4 brothers.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Alvin Proffitt (Millie) of Mechanicsville, VA; daughters, Sonia Marlene Bugh of Bluefield, WV and Joyce Ann Cardwell (Chuck) of Mocksville, NC; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Lula and Mary.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Dana Hambrick officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call prior to services on Friday, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God on Airport Road.
