Frances Lee Hopper, 73, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, March 29th, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM.  Fran, as she was known, was born November 15th, 1950, in Hobbs, NM, to Jack Blackwell Hopper and Frances Lucille (Prichard) Hopper.

Fran graduated from McLean High School in McLean, TX, in 1969 and briefly went to college at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX.  Fran then moved to Roswell, NM, and attended beauty school to become a cosmetologist.  Upon graduation (with pink hair) she practiced there in Roswell for some time.   She later moved to Corona, NM, with her family to work with her mother (a cosmetologist herself) where she had opened a tiny beauty shop in a renovated travel trailer.  In 1975, she moved to Albuquerque, NM, and worked various jobs.  In August of 1976, she began working at First American Title as a receptionist.  After working almost 40 years at First American, she retired in February of 2016 as an Escrow Officer and Branch Manager.   She considered First American Title her home and many of her co-workers her family.

Fran was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jack and Lucille Hopper. She is survived by her sister, Kathy Parker, cousins, Billy Prichard, Val Seay, Dixie Loy, Coleen Bruce, Corine Nye, Jason Norman, and numerous precious second and third cousins.   Fran is also survived by many dear friends, Mary Helen Gallegos, Colleen Stout, Kathy Carrillo, Debbie Talley, Michelle Gallegos, Sharon Akauola and too many others to mention.  She loved them all.

A visitation will be held at Ballard Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. A funeral service will be held the following day, at Ballard Funeral Home, Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00am with burial following at South Park Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Prichard, Gary Stout, Jason Norman, Jeremy Pacheco, and Jake Pacheco.

Honorary contributions in Fran’s name can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.

John 14:2

New King James Version

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
