HURDLE, Frances Elizabeth Rush, 84, of Sandston, Virginia, passed away on June 4, 2010. Frances was born in Wealthia, Buckingham County, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lindsay Hickson Rush and Etta Virginia Worley; and sister, Edith Sharpe. Frances leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Joseph Hamilton Hurdle; two daughters, Jo H. Brown and husband, B.C., of Richmond and Deltaville, Va., Kathleen H. Tucker and husband, Robert, of Highland Springs, Va.; three grandchildren, Kristin Gantt and husband, Roger, Win Mitchell and wife, Danielle, and Jolie Blake, all of Richmond, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Bryson, Chandler and Riley Blake and Madelyn Mitchell; one sister, Dorothy R. Lee of Ashland, Va.; two brothers, Lindsay H. Rush and wife, Clara, of Garner, N.C., Charles V. B. Rush Sr. and wife, Brenda, of Windy Hill Farm in Hanover County, Va.; in addition to many beloved nieces and nephews. She has two stepgrandsons, Bert Brown and wife, Sarah, and David Brown of Folly Island, S.C.; and two stepgreat-grandsons, Darden and Ben Brown of Jacksonville, Fla. She was a loan officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, a member of the Sandston Baptist Church and member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, Stonewall Jackson Chapter. In addition to devoting herself to her family, her interests included genealogy, reading, gardening and travel. She was a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland School of Banking at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and received her Basic, Standard and Graduate Certificates from the American Institute of Banking. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va. A service will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 7, at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Westhampton Memorial Park.

Jo & Joe, So sorry to learn of the passing of Frances. May God Bless you and your family during this time of sorrow. Knowing the two of you, we feel that Frances had to be a very special lady.
