Frances (Guinto) Loniewski Hurwitz
May 7, 2025
Frances (Guinto) Loniewski Hurwitz, 99, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on May 7 in South Carolina.
Born in the Roaring Twenties, Frances was a teenager during the Great Depression, an era that shaped her resilience and character. In 1947, following World War II, she married Chet Loniewski. Together, they raised three children in a home Chet built in Camillus, NY. Summers were cherished at the family's beloved camp on Lake Ontario, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.
After her children were raised and she was free of obligations, Frances found love again with Asher Hurwitz. They were married in 1998 and shared 12 joyful years traveling and enjoying life together until his passing in 2010. She was also predeceased by her beloved son, Eddie, in 2011.
At the age of 85, Frances moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where she spent her twilight years enjoying the sunshine and living next door to her youngest daughter, Lisa. She found deep purpose in helping care for her granddaughter, Jessica. Lisa's devoted care in Frances's later years was a blessing, and Frances couldn't have asked for a more fulfilling, well-lived life.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Joy and Lisa; her grandchildren, Jessica, Brett, and Craig; as well as many dear friends.
She wishes a fond farewell to all who knew and loved her. There will be no calling hours. Frances will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum in Syracuse, NY.
