Frances Huston Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Frances Ellen Huston, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025 in Albany Oregon, at the age of 92.
Born on September 9, 1932, in Bend Oregon, Frances was the daughter of Walter and Martha Scott. She grew up surrounded by family dedicated to living Christian lives, and through those examples of love and faith Fran chose for the entirety of her life to dwell in that same deep faith in our Lord. Her unwavering belief in God was a guiding force that shaped her character and actions. A devoted prayer warrior, she became actively involved in every church community she joined, offering steadfast support and spiritual encouragement to those around her.
Fran dedicated her professional life to nursing, working as a registered nurse specializing in geriatric medicine in Albany, she was a fierce advocate for her patients. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched during her career. She retired in 1996 after years of service marked by kindness and professionalism.
Outside of time spent nursing, Fran found great joy in working with horses. During the years she spent raising her three girls, she also loved riding in Oregon's vast wilderness areas with her family and friends, she also rode with the Linn County Sheriff's Mounted Posse in many of their annual trail rides. These adventures allowed her to spend quality time in nature with her family by her side doing something she loved.
After retiring, Fran and her beloved husband Zane Huston sold their home in Albany and built a new residence in central Oregon-a place they cherished deeply. They enjoyed many happy years there until Zane's passing in 2009. Following his death, Frances returned to Albany to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Fran is lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Kat; Tamie (Cliff); and Tracy (Joe). She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who were blessed by her presence, wisdom, and generosity. She was preceded in death by her parents and by Zane, her devoted husband.
Fran loved deeply-her family, neighbors, and all those she encountered felt the warmth of her generous spirit. Her legacy is one of faithfulness, service, love for the outdoors, and an enduring devotion to those she held dear.
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
