A funeral service for Frances Joyce Jones, 80, will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Minden City Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Randy Rowe.
Fran was born on February 1, 1945, to John Alhaud Parsons and Iona Dowden Parsons in Beaumont, Texas, and passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Fran was a woman of quiet strength, deep devotion, and a heart rooted in service. A proud graduate of Northwestern State University, she went on to earn her Master’s +30 from LSU in Shreveport—a reflection of her lifelong love of learning and her commitment to excellence.
For nearly 30 years, Fran taught Home Economics at Airline High School, where she shaped countless young lives with both skill and compassion. She was a proud member of ADK, continuing her professional legacy beyond the classroom and into the community she cherished.
Fran married the love of her life, Floyd Jones, and together they shared 46 years of marriage filled with faith, laughter, and steady love.
For over 50 years, Fran was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Bossier City, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School—living her faith every day through kindness, music, and service.
She loved her Lord, her family, and her friends—in that exact order. Fran will be remembered for her kind heart, her down-to-earth nature, and the genuine care she showed to everyone lucky enough to know her.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, John and Iona Parsons; her beloved husband of 46 years, Floyd Jones; sisters, Dr. Claire Parsons and Freda Ratcliff; brother, Wade Parsons and daughter-in-law, Jamie Jones.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Victor Jones and wife, Kim, and Wesley Jones; brother-in-law, Don Ratcliff; sister-in-law, Ann Parsons; grandchildren, Trevor Jones, Morgan Brown, Macie Broussard, and husband, Gavin, and Mitchell Jones, along with one great-granddaughter, Violet Brown.
Honoring Fran as pallbearers will be Morgan Brown, Mitchell Jones, Trevor Jones, Wade Ratcliff, Jackie Lewis, and Larry Shaw.
