Frances Kirker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 26, 2025.
Frances Geraldine Hitchens Kirker (Relph) aged 92, passed away on March 21, 2025. She was a friend, grandmother, great grandmother, and mother who will be missed.

Frances was born on July 1, 1932 in Reno, Nevada, and graduated from Winnemucca High School with the class of 1950. She went on to attend college at Lone Mountain College for Women (later acquired by the University of San Francisco), achieved her MBA from National University, and later became an Operations Administrator, Tax Preparer and Small Business Owner. Throughout her career, she was known for her singular devotion to her work, her dedication, and her mentorship.

But more than anything, Frances was a devoted "Gram" and "Gram the Great". She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, sharing stories, playing games, and watching their sports and activities. She was there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Frances was an intrepid traveler, voracious reader, and always ready for a new adventure. She was always eager to share her knowledge, experiences, and enthusiasm with others. She especially loved attending Charger games (until they left San Diego), going to Baja and spending time with her many friends and family.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Kim (Richard) and Vanessa and her son Pete (Julie) her grandchildren, Chris (Jamie), Shane (Erin), Tyler (Megan), Sage (Kalina), Garrett (Lexi), Zoe (Shane) and her great-grandchildren, Mac, Cooper, Savanna, Vesna and Caitlin. Her memory will be cherished by all.

At her request, a 90th birthday party was held to celebrate her life. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date in the San Francisco Bay and the Sea of Cortez. Private ceremonies will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mary Elizabeth Inn where she was a board member for many years (https://givebutter.com/rW5fCK).
