Frances Leona Knowles, 72, of Clinton, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 15.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 18 from 11:00-12:30PM at the Dunn Funeral Home in Newton Grove followed by a funeral service at 12:30, also at the Dunn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hobbton Hwy, 701 S, Newton Grove.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Bruce and Lizzie Nichols Morgan; husband, D.C. Knowles; granddaughter, Hannah Smith; a step-son, David Knowles.
She is survived by daughters; Elizabeth Strickland (Ethan) and Shannon Smith (Joe); sons, Ashley Taylor and Michael Taylor. Grandchildren; Johnathan Smith (Tori Johnson), Gracie Smith (Austin Howell), Conner Strickland, Duncan Strickland, Loretta Strickland, McKenna Strickland, and Ember Strickland, Matthew Knowles, Hailey Taylor, Floyd Taylor, and Rebecca Taylor; and a brother, Johnny Robinson.
Frances was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. A simple woman that loved painting rocks, espcially with crosses on them and to travel to the beach and mountains when she was able. She adored her shopping trips with her daughters to the Walmart on Saturdays. She had a "sweet tooth" and loved eating her sweets! She was very honest, even when you didn't want her to be.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the caregivers of Pruitt Hospice and to nurses Suzanne or "Sue Ann", Sue Sessoms, and Lula Pevie for the love and gentle care they gave to "Mama Frances".
Dunn Funeral Home of Newton grove is honored to serve the Frances Knowles family.
