Frances Elizabeth Davis Lee, 90, died October 18, 2022 in Columbia, SC with her children by her side.
The widow of Rev. Otis Marvin Lee, Sr., she was encouraged that at her death she would meet Jesus face-to-face and see her husband again. During their lifetime together, they had gained the new names of "Papa" and "Nanny" given to them by their grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Nanny worked as a nurse and enjoyed especially working with mentally and physically disabled adults. Her patients loved her also. She enjoyed treating them to special things they may not have received otherwise. She loved working in her yard with flowers and plants. She loved animals, especially birds and dogs.
Nanny's cooking was Southern and delicious. She made the best biscuits and her holiday ambrosia was a special family request.
Born September 28, 1932 in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of Luther James Davis and Emma Elizabeth Martin. She leaves behind children, Jackie Brazell (Cecil) of Columbia, Otis Marvin "Jerry" Lee, Jr. (Gail) and David "Joey" Lee (Jan) all of Lugoff, SC. Grandchildren, Sherry B. Shoars (Peter), Tina B. Shealy (Marty), Dr. Linda L. Branham (Chris), SFC Otis Marvin Lee, III (Mallory), Willis Lee (Amanda), and Tyler Hedgepath (Taylor); 18 great–grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
The graveside service for Mrs. Lee will be held at 1 o'clock, Friday, October 21st, at Midway Independent Methodist Church, 8481 Old Percival Rd, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
