Thomas "Wayne" Lee, age 70, of Montross, Virginia, passed away on the morning of August 31, 2025 peacefully at home after a long illness. He was born on January 18, 1955, in Kinsale, Virginia to his late mother, Nettie Grace Britton Lee.

Wayne was a hardworking and talented man who built his life and reputation as a contractor, master plumber, and electrician. With skilled hands and a generous heart, he was always willing to lend his expertise to anyone in need.

Wayne's greatest joy was found in the simple treasures of life. He loved being out on the water, whether casting a line or pulling in crabs, and he always said the river had a way of bringing him peace. He enjoyed being a drummer, whose rhythms often filled the hearts of those around him. A true enthusiast of classic beauty, Wayne admired antique cars, collected watches and clocks, and never passed up the chance to wander through a flea market in search of hidden gems. Every Sunday morning, you could find Wayne watching Dr. Charles Stanley.

Above all, Wayne was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He shared a lifetime of love with his wife, JoAnne McGuire Lee, and together they built a family rooted in warmth, laughter, and togetherness. He was endlessly proud of his daughters, Joanna Lee of Amelia, Virginia, and Laura Lee of Lancaster, Virginia.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnne; his daughters, Joanna and Laura; his brothers, Curtis Lee (Cindy) and Roger Lee (Cyndi); and his sisters, Doris Kern and Tanena Barrack (Tommy). He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Carroll Lee, Ray Lee, and James "Gene" Lee.

Those who knew Wayne will remember his kindness, humor, and steadfast love of life's simple joys. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the countless memories of days spent fishing, drumming, laughing, and living fully.

A service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church in Montross. An evening visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Welch Funeral Home- Montross Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends to honor his memory by donating to the Westmoreland County Rescue Squad.
