Garner, NC: Mr. Charles Homer Lee, age 87, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Assurance Family Care in Clayton, NC. Funeral Services will be held 1:00PM-Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, Four Oaks, NC. Rev. Rodney Raby and Rev. Joe Pritchett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the Committal Service in the Church Sanctuary, and other times at the home.
Mr. Lee was born on October 4, 1938 in Johnston County, NC, to the late Homer S. Lee and Myrtle Mae Blackman Lee. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Myrtle Joyce Gardner and a brother, David Harold Lee. Mr. Lee was a 1957 graduate of Meadow School. He served in the US Army 508th Military Police Battalion as Military Policeman. Following his military service, Mr. Lee worked at Corning Glass Works in Raleigh, NC, before building a long and successful career in the electronics industry, where he received many sales awards and recognitions. A man of faith, Mr. Lee was a member of Garner Advent Christian Church, where he served as the Chairman of the Deacon board, and in many other capacities. For many years, he has been a part of the Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church family. He enjoyed woodworking, loved music, trips to the mountains, fishing, and working on the farm with his tractors. His greatest loves were his Lord, and his family.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shelby Stanley Lee; daughters, Karen Lee, and Melanie Lee Porter, and husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Alexander “Alex” Neal Porter, and Charles “Charlie” Edwin Porter; sister, Carolyn Lee Stewart, and husband, Donald; mother-in-law, Geraldine Stanley; and niece, Amanda Beasley; great-nephew, Colton Beasley.
