Four Oaks, NC: Julie Christie Wood, age 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM at the First Baptist Church in Four Oaks on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Four Oaks. Revs. Joshua Turpin and John Norman will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery.

Julie was born on August 28, 1951 in Johnston County to the late, John Talton “J.T.” and Christie Adams Wood. She worked at Okay Cleaners in Four Oaks for many years and considered Four Oaks her town. You could find Julie either riding her bicycle or walking down Main Street on a daily basis. Julie never met a stranger and never forgot a name. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Four Oaks where she was a member of the Young at Heart Group and sang in the choir. Julie enjoyed word searches and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her family, Allen and Rochelle Wood and their children, Kenny Mack Wood and wife, Brookie, Stephen Wood and wife, Monica; grandchildren, Tyler Wood and wife, Meredith, Austin Wood and wife, Caitlin, Ayden Wood and Maggie Wood; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Presley Kate; several special cousins; and her beloved dolls, Becky and Luna Brianna.

The Wood Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Smithfield Manor and to Julie’s caregivers, Margie and Jennifer, and special roommate, Valerie Underwood.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Four Oaks.

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
