Frances A Lopez

"Pancha"

Frances A Lopez, our beloved mother, passed away unexpectedly last week of a brain aneurysm in Plato, MO, on January 28, 2026. She was born on August 4, 1950, to Claudio Trujillo and Celia Duran.

Her love was a "safe place" a gentle, steady, and unconditional presence that never wavered. She cared for others, always giving more than she took.

She had the rare ability to make everyone feel valued, understood, and safe. Whether through a comforting word or a listening ear, she was our biggest cheerleader and the "rock" we all leaned on.

She had a "twinkle in her eye" that made time in her company a true delight, reminding us all to find humor in life. She had a gift transforming friends into beloved family members with her warmth and genuine care.

Frances spent her early years in Ocate, NM. The family moved to Taos, NM. She married Ruben Lopez and raised two kids, Annette and Benjamin. Frances was employed by Taos Pharmacy until the early 90's when she moved to Arizona, and met Jesus Sanchez and raised stepson, David Sanchez. She worked at Gould Electronics till 2006; she got more education and became a Pharmacy Tech and was employed by Express Scripts for 19 years.

Frances was a devout Catholic, member of Catholic Daughter in Ranchos, and continued volunteer work with Friends of the Needy in Gilbert. She lived a life of prayer. Faith was the "anchor" that gave her the strength to encourage us.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Claudio Trujillo; stepfather, Orlando Sandoval; sister, Bernice (Bird) Arneson; uncle, Orlando Trujillo.

She leaves behind daughter, Annette Garrett and son in law, Paul Garrett; granddaughter, Janet Garrett; son, Ben Lopez; stepson, David Jesus Sanchez (Candy); and grandchildren, Beatrice, David, Miguel, and Olivia Sanchez; mother, Celia Sandoval; sisters, Louella Medina, Tessie (Burt) Lopez and brother Wilbur (Martina) Trujillo.

A celebration in Taos, NM and funeral in Mesa, AZ with time and date to be determined.
