Frances McArthur Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Phillips Funeral Service Inc. - High Point from Feb. 16 to Feb. 17, 2026.
Frances Natalie Morgan McArthur, a beloved resident of High Point, NC, passed away peacefully at the Westchester Manor Nursing Home on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Born on July 26,1952. Frances lived a life marked by strength, grace and unwavering love. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Morgan and Mozelle Hartsfield and Mr. Johnny McArthur as well as her two sisters, Ms. Frances Judith Waden and Janice Ellerbe.

She attended High Point City Schools and GTCC. She worked many years in Tobias clothing, then on to capital records for 10 years. She later went to school and obtained her CNA license, where she worked for Pennybyrn at Maryfield for 7 years before retiring.

Frances, fondly known as sugarlist, had a gift for bringing family together, whether around the dinner table or around the table to play Bid Whist or spades. Having friends and family around brought joy to a heart, and an unconditional love for all.

Mrs. McArthur is survived by her two very loving children, John Christopher McArthur (LaGretta) of Charlotte, NC and Ms. Tracy Patrice McArthur of High Point, NC; seven grandchildren; Essence (Damion) Armstrong of Greensboro, NC, Gregory Perkins of San Antonio, Tx., Lacrysha McArthur of Dawsonville, GA, Cherish McArthur of High Point, NC, Kaiya Shaw of High Point, NC, and Kace Shaw of High Point, NC. She had so much love for her nine great-grands, but not enough time with them; she also has many memories with her siblings to hold onto: William H. (Linda) Morgan Jr, Keith Morgan, Nancy Morgan, Donald Morgan, Iris Morgan, Dennis Morgan, Angela Morgan, Mary (Frank) Chadmon all of High Point, NC and a brother-in-law, Overseer Michael Ellerbe; she also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special longtime friends, and other children that were near and dear to Frances.

Father, we honor, trust, and love you for all you have done for our mother. For we know that you always have the last say. Our mother is safe in your arms and will continue to carry her in our hearts and celebrate her life. We would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Westchester Manor, High Point Hospice of Piedmont, and Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 753 East Washington Drive. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
