Frances Ruth McMillan (née McMahan), age 77, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on September 28, 2025, to rejoin her best friend and husband, Jerry Eugene McMillan Sr, who died three years ago.

Born January 27, 1948, she was the eldest of Burl J. McMahan and Mamie Ruth Clowers McMahan, both deceased. She is also preceded in death by siblings, Jackie (Bo) McMahan, Judith Ann Greer, Dolly Faye Parton, Dennis R. McMahan, and Bessie Mae (Sue) Carr.

She leaves behind devoted children, Jerry Jr., Richard (Rick), Jackie (Mathew Booe), and David; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Jacob, Hannah, Seth, Hope, Hayden, Keegan, Kylie, Brandon, Alexis, Ronin, and Ethan; 19 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Burl (Buck) with wife Debby and Kenneth (Jabo). She is also lovingly remembered by her special sisters-in-law, Judy Boone and Iris Tollett; cherished nieces, Mindy Blair and Candy Carr, and other beloved extended family.

Frances worked throughout her life serving others. Most notably, she and her husband were faithful Sunday School teachers and served the elderly for over 30 years at Parkwest Church of God under the ministry of Pastor Gerald and Dawn McGinnis, whom they loved dearly.

Frances had an extraordinary gift for nurturing life-whether it was through her green thumb or her tender care for animals and people alike. She never met a plant she couldn't revive or a stray animal (squirrels and birds included) she didn't care for. Her spirit of generosity was abundant!

Frances' legacy is of love-love for family, friends, neighbors, animals, flowers-and above all else, for Jesus Christ. One of her favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Her family holds tightly to this promise-grateful that their hope is in Him-and comforted knowing that Frances is no longer in pain and awaits them, in the presence of their Savior.
