Frances Luella Mitchell, age 73, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 31, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1951, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, to the late Beulah (Stevenson) and William Jones, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin W. Mitchell, Jr.; brother, William Jones, Jr. and sisters, Doloris Downs and Gevonda Moseley. She was a wonderful wife, mother and nanny. She retired from Thornton's after 22 years. Frances loved coffee, bingo, lottery and any of the casinos. Frances in her younger years she was a model for Bacon's Department Stores, She was blessed to have some of the best neighbors, especially Joey & Penny Wimsatt. She was so proud to have the opportunity to watch Stephanie and D.J. Bettinger and spoil them rotten. Frances was also was blessed to have the opportunity to have many amazing years with her grandchildren and great-children making many unforgettable memories that they will cherish for a life time. She leaves to cherish her in memory, her daughters, Melissa Mitchell, Jessica Mitchell and Brittany Bedtelyon (Cecil); grandchildren, Carmyn (Darrell), Joshua, Kasey (James), Huggie (Bree), Christopher, Asa, Paige and Aiden; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Brooks Rd. at Preston Hwy.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
