Frances Ann "Shea" Murray

Mrs. Frances A. (Shea) Murray, 87, of Milford MA died Saturday (March 14, 2026) at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester MA after an illness. She was the beloved wife of George L. Murray Jr.

Frances was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Joseph P. Shea and the late Margaret F. (Perchard) Shea. She attended the St. Angela parochial schools in Mattapan MA and was a graduate of Nazareth High School in South Boston, Class of 1956. She then attained her bachelor's degree from Regis College in Weston MA.

Frances was a longtime school teacher working in the Milford public school system, from which she retired. She had been a resident of Milford MA since 1972 and prior to that had resided in Mattapan MA.

Frances was a longtime member of the Milford Teachers Association and the Massachusetts Teachers Association.

Along with her beloved husband of 53 years, she is survived by her brother: Joseph P. Shea and his wife Elizabeth A. Donnelly-Shea of Charlestown RI; her sister: Kathleen E. (Shea) Mitchell and her husband Stephen Mitchell of Rochester MA; her sister-in-law: Isabel H. Shea of Medford MA; her sister-in-law: Roberta Thompson of CA; her niece: Deborah Michelle of CA; her nephews: Joseph P. Shea of South Boston MA, Peter J. Shea of San Diego CA, Alex D. Shea of North Kingston RI and Anthony Mann of CA.

Frances was the sister of the late Paul E. Shea.

Her funeral will be held MONDAY (March 23rd) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON in St. Mary of the Assumption Church (LOWER CHURCH), 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held MONDAY (March 23rd) from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Mass.
