Obituary published on Legacy.com by Malloy & Son Funeral Home - Galveston on Dec. 4, 2025.
Frances Dee "Pudgy" Lindholm Pacini, 92, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, just nine days before her 93rd birthday. She was born on December 11,1932 to Virginia and Adolph Lindholm. A true BOI, Pudgy lived a full and generous life rooted in faith, friendship, and deep love for her family.
Pudgy attended Galveston Public Schools and graduated from Ball High School in 1950. She began working at American National and Moody Compress before finding her true calling in Catholic education. For 34½ years, she served as secretary to the principal at Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Patrick's, and Galveston Catholic Schools. During these years, she formed a treasured lifelong friendship with her boss, Sister Jean Marie Deleery, and touched countless lives. Teachers, students, and parents alike regularly shared their fond memories of Mrs. Pacini.
Pudgy met the love of her life, Nathel Charles Pacini, at the local bowling alley, and they married in 1952. They shared 49 beautiful years together until his passing in 2002.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathel, her son Nathel "Nate" Pacini, Jr., her grandson, Nathel "Lil' Nate" Pacini, III and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bivens.
Pudgy leaves behind her family that meant everything to her: children: Paul Pacini and wife Kelly; Antoinette Pacini and husband Mike Moore; A.J. Pacini and wife Mary; and Natalie Butner and husband Chris; her grandchildren Krysta Pacini; Kyle Pacini and wife Kristin; Athena Piller and fiancé Rudy; and Grayson and Riley Butner; and her great grandchildren-Camdyn Pacini; Kinley and Kelsey Pacini; Lincoln and Hudson Piller and Callie Rezniceks and Patrick Murphy- who brought her tremendous joy. She is also survived by her nephew, David Bivens, and his family, along with many loving cousins.
Pudgy was a woman of deep kindness and strength. She loved her family unconditionally and cherished every moment spent together. Her door and her heart were always open. Whether you were family, friend, or someone who just needed a place to land, she welcomed you as her own. She had a gift for making people feel at home.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Traditions Hospice for their compassionate care, especially Rose and Robin; and the staff of the Meridian who cared for her with gentleness and respect.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Pacini, Grayson Butner, Patrick Murphy, David Bivens, George Hatch and Gordon Morse.
In honor of her lifelong support of Catholic education, donations may be made to Galveston Catholic School, O'Connell College Preparatory or to a
charity of one's choice.
Pudgy's family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 9, at Sacred Heart Church. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
