Frances Parker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 6, 2026.
Frances Marie Parker (née Thomas), 55, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on February 19, 2026.

Born on October 5, 1970, Frances was the beloved daughter of Charles "Sonny" Thomas and Patricia Thomas. From her parents came the passions that shaped her life - the music that filled her soul, the creativity that moved through her hands, and the love expressed around a full kitchen table. She fed the people she loved the way her mother fed her - generously and with joy. She turned up the music the way her father did - loudly and without hesitation. These were more than memories but inheritances she carried with reverence.

Frances attended Ridgeway High School and later the University of Mississippi. She graduated from Memphis College of Art in 1995 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, where she further developed her artistic talents. Her creativity was not limited to the canvas but reflected in all that she did. A true free spirit, Frances was unapologetically herself. She loved adventure, travel, and new experiences.

Her most fulfilling chapter began on November 3, 2001, when she married her husband, Alan Parker. In him, she found the steady, unwavering foundation she would turn to in every season of life. Together they built a life centered around family. Frances's greatest joy was raising her two daughters, Tristan Camille Weathers and Taylor McKenzie Parker. From hand-painted murals on their bedroom walls to meals prepared with love, she approached every moment with intention and her perfectionist touch. She turned ordinary spaces into something beautiful and everyday moments into something meaningful. Her two beloved grandchildren, Alfie and Lavender Weathers, brought her immeasurable pride and joy. Frances loved nothing more than her family. She inherited love, lived it fully, and passed it forward.

Frances is survived by her husband, Alan Parker; her daughters, Tristan Weathers and Taylor Parker; her grandchildren, Alfie and Lavender Weathers; and her brothers, Bob Thomas and David Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles "Sonny" Thomas and Patricia Thomas.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis.
