Frances Plank Obituary
Frances Plank, of Lewiston, passed away on August, 15, 2024. She was born on March 17, 1933 in Fremont, MN to Simmons and Hazel Pierce. Frances grew up in Utica, MN with her siblings and graduated from high school in 1952. She tied the knot with her loving husband, Cleyson Plank, on September 3, 1954, and together they built a beautiful family with three children and a special niece.
Frances was a devoted mother, known for her kind heart and unwavering dedication to her family. She found joy in raising her children and spent countless hours on dairy farms, where her hard work and toughness shone through. Her love for Christmas and passion for decorating brought warmth and cheer to those around her. A talented seamstress, quilter, and gardener, Frances shared her creative gifts with others and was an active member of various community organizations, including Utica Victory 4H, Women's Fellowship, and South Utica Homemakers.
Following her commitment to serving others, Frances worked for 18 years in the Lewiston-Altura school district, driving a handicap van for special needs children. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered.
Frances is survived by her husband, Cleyson; children, Dean Plank, Renee (Paul) Anderson, Doug (Lynda) Plank; special niece, Sara Laqua; brothers, Carlos (Helen) Pierce, Dale (Ann) Pierce; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amber) Anderson, Andrea (Jeff) Dyreson, Krystal (Joe Dietrich) Plank, Dominic (Carrie) Plank, Brian Rinehart, Amanda Vagt; 14 great-grandchildren, and several nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wesley (Janice) Pierce; sister, Norma (Ron) Laqua; granddaughter, Missy Anderson, and nephew, Rick Pierce.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at Lewiston Church of the Brethren. Memorial service will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 11 am at Lewiston Church of the Brethren with an additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Gordon Hoffert and Sue Bollinger will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fools Five in memory of Frances Plank.
The service will be livestreamed for those of you who are unable to attend.
