Frances V. Ramos, age 101, was born on September 12, 1923, in Yuma, Arizona and died on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Munster, Indiana.
Preceded in death by her parents, Primitivo and Petra Vela; sons, John "Corky" Ramos (Lydia), and Gregory (Ileana) Ramos, sisters, Margarite (Ramon) Ramirez, Alicia (Frank) Vela, Aurora (Juan) Gomez, Agnes (Joseph) Espitia and Linda (Jose) Casas.
Frances leaves behind her loving grandchildren: Nicole (Daniel) Mika, Gregory (Maria) Ramos, Michael (Marianna) Ramos, Renee (late Orlando) Ramos Figueroa; great-grandchildren: Joshua Valdivia, Madison Mika, Gregory Ramos, Jake Figueroa, Olivia Figueroa, Julia Figueroa, Michael Ramos, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Ramos; numerous nieces and nephews. Special mention to niece, Monica Rosario and nephew, Peter Espitia for their love and devotion to her. Special thank you to Anthony from Traditions Hospice and their staff for their amazing care.
Frances was a member of the legendary all girls Mexican Softball Team, Las Gallinas, Holy Rosary Society, St. John Cantius Church and retired from St. Catherine Hospital.
Memorial Service will be Monday, October 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408 219-980-5555.
Frances will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members. God Grant Her Eternal Rest With her Sons, Corky and Greg.

I have been missing Francis and her positive way of looking at things; never a negative word about anything. She was my mom`s neighbor at Munster. We visited her often and she loved the cappuccinos and stories that we shared. What a beautiful person she was!
