Frances "Fran" Dorothy Reeves, 92, was born February 3, 1933, in Washington, D.C., and passed away August 17, 2025, in Hebron, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Jenkins; sister, Dolores Johnston; brothers, Frank Jr. and Don Jenkins; husband, James Reeves, Jr.; and daughter, Kathryn Reeves.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Sullivan (Mike Dix Sr.); son, Dennis Reeves; granddaughters, Krista Williams (Jamie) and Katie Padgett (Andrew); grandson, Ryan Reeves; step granddaughters, Crystal and Tiffany Biscoe; and great grandchildren, Cameron, Ruby, Jackson, and Flynn; as well as daughters-in-law, Jeanne Ourand and Cheryl Smith; sister-in-law, Grace Reeves; and several nieces and nephews (Donna, Denise, Debbie, Dean, Sue, Jodi, Sherry, Dave, Scotty, Beth, Sally, and Carolyn).
After graduating from Bladensburg Senior High School in 1952, she worked for the telephone company, married, and became a stay-at-home mother. When the children entered elementary school, she worked for school cafeterias, Citizens Bank of Maryland, Montgomery Ward in the contract department where she retired in 1996, and then Walmart in San Antonio, TX and Fruitland, MD where she worked until the age of 81.
Fran was an avid baker of cookies, cheesecakes, and Amish breads, mostly made for others to enjoy. She also loved to read, especially mysteries.
A service to honor the life of Fran will be held Saturday, August 30 at 10:00am at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804. A public visitation will occur one hour prior. Fran will be laid to rest at Springhill Memory Garden, Hebron, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Maryland Food Bank, 28500 Owens Branch Road, Salisbury MD 21801.
