Age 88, died peacefully at her home in Colden, New York. Fran, wife of 50 years to the late James Philip Riter, daughter of the late William and Mary Skipper, sister to late Maureen (John) Hanrahan and late William (Amanda) Skipper. Mother of 7 children: the late Michael {(late Kim) (Judy)}, late James Philip (infant), late James (Diann), Patrick (late Lynn), Dennis (Donna), Nancy (Dean) Weber and William (Eileen). Fran is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Fran grew up in South Buffalo before moving to Texas with her husband while they were stationed in the United States Air Force. After a few short years, they returned to Buffalo to raise their family, settling in Orchard Park for 37 years. After retiring from the Orchard Park School system, Fran and her husband Jim built their dream home, where they both spent their remaining years. Throughout her life, Fran was surrounded by close friends from both childhood and career, remaining close with many of them until her final days; many whom she considered family. Family will receive friends 4pm – 7pm Friday at the F. E. Brown Sons Funeral Home, 6575 E. Quaker St., Orchard Park NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday 12:30pm at St. Bernadette RC Church 5930 Abbott Rd. Orchard Park, NY. Please assemble at church.
