Frances Elizabeth Robinson (nee Banta), age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Frances was born in Tipton, IN on July 6, 1935. She left her small hometown for the big city as a young woman moving to Chicago to work for Newsweek. In Chicago she met the love of her life, Chicago Police Captain George Robinson. Together they raised a family while Frances worked as Office Administrator at Norwood Park Home until her retirement to Florida, where she enjoyed the warm sunshine, spending time with friends, volunteering for the community, and hosting visits from family. After the passing of George, Frances returned to Illinois to be closer to family and lived in Grayslake until settling into Addolorata Villa for her final years. An avid reader, life-long Disney fan, and excellent cookie baker, she passed these loves on to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Jim (Sue) Robinson and Kathleen (Ken) Wickes, dear grandchildren, Elizabeth Robinson (Mario Morales), Andrew (Martha) Robinson, and Katherine Robinson. She was a fond sister of Jean, Irvin Jr, Joanna, and Miriam, and a loving aunt to Lisa, Dori, Gini, Renee, Rick, and Mike, and great aunt to many beloved grand nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, George D. Robinson; by her siblings and parents Irvin and Dadie Banta.
A memorial mass for Frances will be held at 11am on Friday August 23, 2024 at Addolorata Villa Senior Living, 555 McHenry Rd, Wheeling, IL 60090 in their main chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
