Frances Russell

Frances L. Smith Russell, 93, of Danville passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Born February 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James Carroll and Lizzie Lucas Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bruce C. Russell; daughter, Debbie Trevino; siblings: G.W. Smith, Harold Smith, Cleo Smith, Shirlie Coleman, Maxine Lane, Murrell Durham, Margie Gifford, Audra Gifford, and Edith Gaddis; and grandchildren: Amy Dorsett, Tara Russell, and Brian Russell.

Frances was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She retired from Ephriam McDowell at the age of 79 where she had worked for 48 years. She was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Doug (Dawn) Russell of Garrard County; daughters: Diane (Herb) Dorsett and Carolyn (Harold) Cherry, both of TX; 6 grandchildren: D.J. Russell of NC, Drew Russell of Lexington, Ginger (Julio) Lopez of TX, Traci (Larry) Paver of OH, Brittany Russell of OH, and Steven Cherry of TX; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 6-8 PM Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service is at 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home with Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Burial is at Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Larry Smith, Kevin Smith, Keith Smith, Ray Coleman, D.J. Russell, and Drew Russell.
