Frances D. Sell

Frances D. Sell, 88, peacefully passed away on Monday October 20, 2025. Frances was the loving wife of Darwin R. Sell, and they were happily married for 45 years, prior to his passing in 2002. Born in Lehighton, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Elmira (Frey) Sheckler. For many years, Frances was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts Troop 94 and was very active with the Catasauqua Baseball Association. She was a loving mother and grandmother who would never miss any of their sporting events. Frances was a faithful and longtime choir member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Catasauqua. She loved to bake and spent many years playing with the Happy Boombadeers. During the winters she and Darwin would spend their time down in Winter Haven, FL as "snowbirds." Frances will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her sons: Randy Sell and his wife Rosemary, Richard "Smiley" Sell, Robert Sell and his wife Paula, Rickey Sell and his wife Christine. Brother: Stewart Sheckler and his wife Donna. Frances has 12 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Raymond Sell husband of Pamela Sell and her brother Donald Sheckler husband of Doris Sheckler.
Services will be Private at the convenience of the family.
