Obituary For Frances "Frankie" Shawver
Frances T. "Frankie" Shawver, 90, a longtime resident of Elephant Butte, NM passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2023 in Las Cruces, NM.
Frankie was born in Rainelle, WV to Luchon Johnny Tignor and Lottie Irene Lockhart on October 2, 1932. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Frankie was a very hardworking and dedicated person, always keeping her family organized and well put together. She worked many jobs throughout her life, but she was most proud of the work she did at home. She and her husband retired to Elephant Butte, NM in the mid-1990s. Frankie loved to sew, quilt, read, do puzzles, and collect Angels. She had a great sense of adventure and didn't let anything stop her when she set her mind to it! Though she faced many obstacles in life, she was even a colon cancer survivor, she always kept her faith in God. She was a faithful member of the Church at the Butte, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, before she lost her hearing and could no longer do so.
Frankie is survived by her daughters- Darcena Armstrong and her husband, James, and April Kreis and her husband, Johnny; granddaughters- Tara Stine (Jason), Monica Clayton (Shawn), and Malini Fuangvuthi (Eric Hall); great grandson- Lucas Clayton; and brother Gene Tignor of Rainelle, WV.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard W. Shawver, who died August 1, 2006.
Services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Church at the Butte (516 NM-195, Elephant Butte, NM 87935) starting with a visitation at 1:00 P.M., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Mrs. Shawver will be laid to rest next to her husband at Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery following. Send flowers to the service of Frances "Frankie" Shawver
