Frances Elaine Sones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born on May 22, 1949, to Laura Bell and Willis Lavell Hollingsworth.
Frances lived a life marked by resilience, service, faith, and deep devotion to family and community. She believed in serving others above all else and treating everyone with compassion and dedication.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Russell Issac Sones, her daughter, Angelique Rachelle Rogers, and son-in-law, Mark Barrett Caldwell.
She is survived by her devoted husband and eternal companion, Richard Daniel Sones, to whom she was married for 55 wonderful years.
She leaves behind her 8 children: Kimberly (Scott) Johnson, Sarah (Steve) Brown, Danielle (Mark) Caldwell, Julie (Deven) Bateman, Richard (Audra) Sones, Michael Sones, Joshua Sones, and David Sones.
Family was a central focus of her life, and she raised her children with unconditional love, encouragement, and strong principles.
Family remained most important in Frances's life. She was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her so much joy.
Helping those in need was a lifelong passion and a defining part of Frances's legacy. She devoted many decades of faithful service in Ward and Stake callings.
Frances was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and remained a faithful member all her life. She uplifted and inspired countless individuals through thoughtful service and charity. Frances also had a remarkable gift for creating warm, welcoming homes. Wherever she lived, she made spaces comfortable, beautiful, and full of love.
She maintained many treasured friendships that spanned decades and valued loyalty deeply. Frances considered herself richly blessed to have lived a full and meaningful life.
She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, faith, and unwavering love for family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11:00am – 12:00pm, at the LDS Chapel located at 240 South Center Street in American Fork, Utah.
There will also be a funeral held at the LDS chapel at 1911 McLaurin Street, Waveland Mississippi on March 28, 2026 at 11:00am.
