It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Frances Ruth Spencer, who everyone knew as "Nin". She left us on March 24, 2025 at the age of 86 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Frances was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Frances was born on June 17, 1938 in Houston, MS to James and Mary Lou Finn. Growing up in Houston, she demonstrated an early passion for her family, a trait that would follow her throughout her life.
Frances retired from Las Vegas Casino where she was a beloved manager for her team many years ago. She also loved working with her brothers Donnie Finn & Roger Finn for decades in their respective car businesses.
Frances was a person of varied interests and unwavering kindness. She cherished time spent with family and friends, often hosting gatherings filled with laughter and love. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were always her favorite times of the year. She always cooked too much food and filled the den with presents under a larger than needed Christmas tree. Frances had a particular way with her grandchildren and great grandchildren...She may have spoiled us and the cousins a little...
Frances is survived by her daughter, Debbie Montgomery (Mitch) of Greenville, her son, Charles Franks of Greenville. Grandchildren, Michael Montgomery (Rena) of Olive Branch, MS, Danny Montgomery (Beth) of Jackson, MS, Tony Franks (Ashley) of Lowndsboro, AL and Chris Franks of Greenville. Great Grandchildren Madison and Luke Montgomery, Carter and Caylee Franks, Hunter Newell and Makayla Carlson. Her family will forever hold her memory close.
She was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Spencer of Greenville. Two brothers, Ruble Finn (Debbie), Donnie Finn (Peggy), Sisters Pearline Presley and Faye Moore (JV). She also leaves many nieces and nephews behind who she loved with all of her heart.
A celebration of Frances' life will be held on March 30, 2025 at 2:00, at Mortimer Funeral Home (711 US 82 Greenville, MS. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories, honoring the remarkable life of Frances Spencer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that Frances deeply cared about.
Though Frances may no longer walk among us, her spirit remains a guiding light for all who knew her. As we say our final farewells, let us remember her warmth, generosity, and the countless moments of joy she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, Nin. You will be missed dearly and remembered always.
