Frances A. Watkins Talbott, 92 of Williamsport Indiana, passed away on September 9, 2025.
Frances was born in an Army Hospital at Fort Sheridan IL, on January 24, 1933 to Charles Daniel Watkins of Warren Co. and Elna Nystrom of Eveleth, MN. She moved to Williamsport, IN, with her family at the age of 6. From that time on she was a life-long resident of Warren County. Frances graduated from Williamsport High School in 1951,where she was Valedictorian and Treasurer of her class. Shortly after graduation she began working at Citizen State Bank as a bookkeeper. She worked at the bank for 44 years until she retired as a Senior Vice President on Dec, 31, 1994.
On March 13, 1982 Frances was united in marriage to William (Bill) Talbott. Frances & Bill enjoyed attending Purdue women's basketball and were members of the John Purdue Club. They also enjoyed camping. Francie always loved reading a good book, movies and attending the grand-kid's activities. She enjoyed her monthly luncheons with the ladies of the Golden Girls & Unique Clubs, and was an active member of the Williamsport Christian Church. Frances was also an animal lover and cherished the many pets she had through the years.
She is survived by her Stepchildren: Sherry Melchi, Remington, IN; Debi Green, Cartersville GA; Scott Talbott & Lori Estes, Attica IN; TJ (Jim) Willett, Williamsport, IN; Sister, Mary Myers, Lafayette, IN; Niece, Shari Johnson, Somonauk, IL and long-time friend Teena Flook, Lafeyette, IN; 8 Grandchildren: Brian Melchi, Remington, IN; Cory (Nikki) Melchi, West Lafayette, IN; Chris (Beth) Green, Cartersville, GA; Jennifer (Greg) Corbin, Cartersville, GA; Nick ( Kaitlyn) Green Cartersville, GA; Justin Willett, Fort Myers, FL.; Amy (Bill) Spence, Walkerton, IN; Logan Talbott & Mikayla Davis, Attica, IN; Dustin Estes, Attica, IN; 1 Great Nephew, Daniel (Kari) Christenberry, Elgin, IL; 1 Great Niece Caitlin (Nick) Brown, Somonauk, IL; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Nephews; and one Great-Great-Niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Grady Funeral Home, 111 E. Monroe St. in Williamsport. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 Noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Williamsport, IN.
In Lieu of Flowers and Plants, memorial contributions may be made to Paws & Claws Animal Shelter, 2466 US-41, Attica, IN.
