Frances Ann Walker, age 59, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
She was born on October 20, 1966, in Suffolk, Virginia, and raised by her parents, William "Buddy" and Belva (Sears) Walker.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ted Riddle.
Frances is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Kayla) Riddle of Topeka, Kansas, and Barry Riddle of Greenville; her stepchildren, Susan (Raymond) Krotzer of Midland, Michigan, and Edward (Karlene) Riddle of Shephard, Michigan; her grandchildren, Dolan, Wyatt, Olivia, and Abigail; her stepgrandsons, Raymond Krotzer, Zachary, Alex, and Jeremey Riddle; her siblings, Carol (Hunter) Nichols of Nashville, Tennessee, and Billy (Jeannie) Walker of Johnson City, Tennessee; and her cousin, Robert (Linda) Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida.
Frances lived a life defined by courage, compassion, and service. With a true servant's heart, she dedicated nearly 20 years to helping others as a firefighter, EMT, and flight medic. As Virginia's first deaf firefighter, she broke barriers with strength and determination, proving that no obstacle could stand in the way of her calling to serve. She spent many of her years with the Suffolk Fire Department and later with Pegasus Flight Operations in Charlottesville, where she continued her lifesaving work in the skies.
Frances was also an auxiliary member of the New Madison American Legion. Outside of her career, Frances embraced life with joy and creativity. She loved singing karaoke and listening to K-Pop music, filling her home and heart with energy and rhythm. She found peace and purpose in arts and crafts, especially creating intricate bead projects that reflected her patience and artistic spirit. Some of her most treasured moments were spent fishing with her boys whenever she was able.
