Frances Neoma Witt

Frances Neoma Witt, age 92, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, January 16, 2026.
Frances was born August 31, 1933, in Bloomburg, Texas, to Carl and Hetta Mayfield. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. Known lovingly as "Miss Frances," retired from Atlanta ISD, after more than 30 years of service.
Flowering plants were a joy for her. Walking through the fields and pastures was a favorite past time. Gardening was a passion. She loved animals and rescued many pets in her lifetime. Her life will continue in those who have known her through caring, politeness, work ethic, sacrifice, faith, and compassion. She treasured sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Martha Green, brothers, Robert Mayfield, David Mayfield, sister-in-law, Ann Mayfield, and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Neal.
She is survived by daughter, Allene, and husband John Winslow, granddaughter, Sara Winslow, great-grandsons, Leander, Brayden, and Connor, granddaughter, Jacki and husband Creg Reid, great-granddaughters, Eva, Penny, and Harper, Son, Robert Neal, son, Michael Witt and wife Wanda, step grandson, Brandon, step granddaughter, Theresa, step great grandson, Remington, son, Bryan Witt and wife Laura, granddaughter Kaitlynn. Frances is also survived by a number of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 22, 2026, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Gene Parker officiating.
Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
