Sharon Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hanner Funeral Service on Feb. 18, 2026.
Sharon Lynn Williams, 78, of Doddridge, AR passed away at home on Sunday, February 15, 2026 surrounded by family and other loved ones. Sharon was born October 9, 1947 in Texarkana, AR to Thomas A. and Vivian Willard. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer for four years.

Sharon's greatest joys in life were spending time with and caring for her family and friends and caring for her Applehead Chihuahua, Spunky. She loved working hard as a frame operator at GTE, Valor, and Windstream and retired with 44 years of service. She was proud to have been the first woman in the area to climb a telephone pole. Sharon loved finding treasures at estate and garage sales, playing bingo and any sort of trivia as well as solving crossword puzzles and watching Judge Judy, Jeopardy, Family Feud and Paternity Court. Sharon had a passion for all genres of music and could always name a song and the artist as well as sing along to just about anything. She was an avid reader and took great pride in her home library which houses over 1,000 books. Weekly lunch dates with her brother, sister and cousins were very special moments for Sharon.

She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, Arthur Dale Williams of Doddridge; her sons, Dale Williams of Redwater, TX and Jeff Williams (Charlotte) of Doddridge; her grandchildren, Brandy Perry (Ryan), Luke Williams, and Collin Williams; her great grandchildren Makayla Carreon (Kevin), Serenity Boyd, Raedan Kirby, and Hazel Helms; and her step-granddaughter, Abby Myrick. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Jaunita Roberts of Genoa, AR and her brother, Tommy Willard (Kay) of Texarkana, AR. Sharon leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Thomas A. and Vivian Willard of Texarkana, AR.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to her care teams at the Carti Cancer Center in Little Rock, AR and the Christus St. Michael Health Care system in Texarkana. A special expression of thanks is given to the caregivers of Dierkson Hospice who offered comfort and dignity during Sharon's final hours.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Smyrna Baptist Church in Smyrna, TX with Brother Gene Parker officiating.
